New Line of Hygienic PE Insulated Containers

FACH-PAK has combined over a decade of industry experience with its manufacturing capabilities to create a new line of insulated containers made with foamed polyethylene (PE), designed specifically for food processing, including fish and meat processing facilities. These containers are also successfully used by food waste management companies as a stronger alternative to standard single-wall pallet boxes. The concept of insulated containers originated in Scandinavian fisheries, where fishermen used polyurethane (PUR) insulated containers to transport fresh-caught fish from boats to processing facilities. While PUR insulation was effective, it was vulnerable to water infiltration in the event of cracks, which could deform the containers and reduce performance.

FACH-PAK’s new PE containers are produced using rotational molding and filled with foamed polyethylene between the walls. While the thermal insulation is slightly lower than PUR, the containers are virtually monolithic—stronger, more durable, easy to repair, and fully recyclable. Custom colors can be produced starting with just a single unit, with optional marking via screen printing, engraving, or “Mould in Graphics.” The materials used are of the highest quality and approved for direct food contact. Smooth walls and the absence of sharp edges make the containers easy to clean and maintain hygiene. They are ideal for fish, meat, poultry, and food waste processing (CAT.3). The COVID-19 pandemic underscores the importance of hygiene. FACH-PAK insulated containers, with their smooth monolithic construction, minimize microbial buildup, are easy to clean, and the foamed polyethylene interior does not absorb external moisture. Triple-layer walls provide exceptional impact resistance, and a tight-fitting lid protects against external contamination.
